That struggle followed him into the Alaskan correctional system and a halfway house, where frustration finally reached its peak. “I was exhausted,” Stephen recalls. “I couldn’t understand why I kept failing as a believer. It felt like I was doing life on the installment plan—never fully free.” Then, in a moment of complete surrender, he cried out to God to break the cycle.
And God met him there. In that moment, these words rose in his spirit:
“I know you’re feeling frustrated, cause things aren’t going your way.
I know that things seem all messed up, but Jesus is still with you today.
You feel like running around and just staying away…
But that’s not the answer— cause you know that inside you….
He is calling you back home to stay.”
That encounter became the heartbeat of the song—a powerful call to stop running, return to God, and finally be free.
If you’ve drifted… if you’re tired of repeating the same cycle… if you feel like you’ve gone too far—this message is for you.
It’s time to come home.
Say this prayer:“Father, I come to You just as I am—broken, tired, and in need of Your grace. I confess that I’ve gone my own way, but I believe You have never left me.
Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God. I believe You died for my sins and rose again so I could be forgiven and made new. Today, I turn back to You with all my heart.
Forgive me, cleanse me, and restore me. Break every cycle that pulls me away from You. Give me strength to stand, courage to follow You, and faith to trust You completely.
Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Heal what’s been broken. Renew my mind, my heart, and my purpose.
From this moment on, I choose to come home—and to stay home with You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
